ACE expands construction provision

ACE are delighted to welcome a new member of the team, Toby Barnes, who has joined the specialist teaching team to deliver a range of construction courses. Toby has 9 years of teaching experience and comes to ACE from the Construction Industry Training Board where he taught construction and civil engineering to degree level as well as specialising in industry and health and safety training. Toby also has previous experience from Huntingdon Regional College of working with young people who are not in employment, education or training and SEN learners.

Toby joined ACE because he is passionate about inspiring young people to make a difference to their lives by making a career in the construction industry. Toby said ‘I left school with very little ambition and few qualifications but I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take an apprenticeship in the construction industry and now I have the opportunity to give that knowledge back. I was attracted to ACE because of their strong ethos to help young people who find themselves in a difficult position with no qualifications or work experience and ACE provide the guidance, trust and support alongside the skills and qualifications that they need to develop their careers.’

Lou Gardiner, Managing Director of ACE said ‘We are very excited to have someone of Toby’s calibre and experience join the team and am looking forward to being able to expand this area of provision to meet the needs of young people as well as supporting the needs of the construction sector.’
