Ernest Cook Trust supports ACE project to improve GCSE Science results
ACE are delighted to announce The Ernest Cook Trust’s support for this project which has been designed to help students in Norfolk schools who are struggling to achieve GCSE Science at grade C or above.
This project helps to improve the motivation, confidence and attainment in GCSE science of year 11 students who are not predicted to gain a C or above. The student’s needs will be addressed through a series of half day sessions delivered to small groups of learners, the sessions will be highly motivational, practical and will conclude with a test or assessment which will demonstrate to the students that they have improved their knowledge of that subject and therefore their levels of confidence in science.
The Ernest Cook Trust have made a grant of over £9,000 which will help to provide this specialist support for 8 groups of 8 – 12 students.
Schools interested in taking part in the project can find out more by contacting ACE on 01603 720308.
At the moment, our Training Centre is still open, and we intend to remain so for as long as safely possible. We are taking additional precautions to safeguard the health and well-being of our students, teaching staff and other employees:
We have increased the frequency with which we clean all our offices and are ensuring the cleaning standards are consistent with government advice. Students and staff are being encouraged to frequently hand wash and keep contact to a minimum.
We have restricted movement outside the training centre and have cancelled any non-essential meetings and visits.
We will try to keep learning disruption to our students to a minimum, even in the event of a partial closure of the Training Centre. Where possible, students will be provided with learning resources to continue their learning at home, with telephone or internet support provided, as appropriate. You will be advised of this as the situation develops and in line with updated Government policy and advice.
Above all, student and staff safety remain our top priority at all times. If in doubt of any of the above information, please call us.
