Muddy learning!
Today was the first day of our new course – a Practical Introduction to Horticulture.
The weather could have been a bit kinder (and certainly made doing the sign up paperwork challenging!) but the ACE Team weren’t going to let a little bit of rain get in the way of some quality learning. The adult learners got stuck straight in, shovelling compost and planting out onions and cabbages. Special care had to be taken whilst barrowing the compost to the planting site to stop a rogue sheep from escaping through the open gate! We hope the rain hasn’t put anyone off from returning next week for Day 2 of this 5 session course, which is aimed at giving an overview of the methods and skills used in various aspects of the horticultural industry. Big thanks go to Lauren, our General Manager, who probably won’t dry out for a few days – you’re a star, Lauren!
