Helping Local Jobseekers Shine
The inspectors saw first-hand that learners at ACE are super keen and excited about what they’re learning. They truly value the chance to pick up new skills and earn qualifications that are recognised by employers, especially in vocational sectors like construction. The students throw themselves into their training, gaining loads of confidence and becoming skilled at practical tasks, like operating plant machinery, so they’re truly ready for the construction sector. And here’s something important: learners consistently say they feel safe and supported, thriving in an environment where everyone feels valued.
Boosting Local Jobs and Skills
A big part of ACE’s success comes from working hand-in-hand with local employers, councils, and Jobcentres across Norfolk and Suffolk. This team effort means ACE can design courses that directly address the skills that local businesses need, helping people get into meaningful work. Plus, ACE helps its learners get extra qualifications, like the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and Construction Plant Competence Scheme cards; essential for safe work on construction sites.
ACE’s tutors and instructors are brilliant; they bring tons of real-world construction experience to the classroom. They’re fantastic at sharing practical knowledge and teaching learners how to spot and handle risks on building sites. The students become really good at operating machinery safely – a crucial skill for any job. ACE also goes the extra mile to support learners facing personal challenges, whether it’s housing, mental health, or other difficulties. It gives them comprehensive guidance, which truly helps them improve their lives and job prospects. ACE staff are ace at career advice too, helping with CVs, job applications, and interview practice, making sure most learners successfully finish their courses and move straight into work.
The inspection also gave a shout-out to ACE’s strong quality assurance and governance, which means ACE is always working hard to keep its training standards high for everyone in the community.
